ATMP in Flemingsberg: A networking event for companies and Core Facilities at Campus Flemingsberg
We are pioneers in cell and gene therapies, but it is only through collaboration that we can accelerate in the ATMP field and treat patients. During an intensive and interactive networking event, companies and Core Facilities met to discuss ATMP in the area and identify new collaboration opportunities.
We are pioneers in cell and gene therapies, but it is only through collaboration that we can accelerate in the ATMP field and treat patients. During an intensive and interactive networking event, companies and Core Facilities met to discuss ATMP in the area and identify new collaboration opportunities.
In 2023, the foundation, together with CIMED, the Center for Innovative Medicine, and Karolinska Institutet, initiated an important development program to enhance the opportunities for collaboration between research infrastructures and SMEs, small and medium-sized enterprises in Flemingsberg. As part of the program, we organize networking events with the aim of spreading knowledge about and highlighting the expertise and infrastructure available in the area, and to intensify the collaboration between companies and Core Facilities. The theme for the spring meeting was Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) in Flemingsberg.
”Smartcella’s ambition is to become a leader in targeted ATMP therapies by combining first-in-class delivery platforms with novel cell and mRNA technology. The unique and historic ATMP ecosystem in Flemingsberg with the research and early development work at Karolinska, as well as other ATMP companies, makes it an ideal location to achieve this ambition.” – Jonathan Clarke, Head of Research and Early Development at SmartCella.
During the event, we brought together two ATMP experts from the area as keynote speakers, Ewa Ellis from Karolinska and Jonathan Clarke from SmartCella. Additionally we were joined by Melissa Nackovski from Merck, who gave a brief introduction to Merck and presented their camper bus which was on campus that day. Finally, the participants were given the opportunity to briefly present their own activities.
